In the Florida Keys, there was a clam shell I used to love to collect. They are large clams called Sunrise Tellins. These earrings were hand carved Tellin clams, and Tellin shell jewelry is very rare to find. In shallow waters on the sandy flats in the Keys, if you squiggle your toes down the sand you can grab one of two things. Live sand dollars, or little Tellin shells. They have the prettiest pale pink and light yellow stripes.
 
The earrings are clips and are carved into diamond shapes. The edges are perfectly smooth and the shells are glossy and scratch free. The earrings are an eggshell white, hints of light yellow, and of course light pink stripes. 
 
They measure 1 3/4" long x 1 1/4" wide. Both earrings are in pristine condition with no chips, cracks or signs of wear. The clips are like new and are strong with tight snap. The earrings are not signed, but they might have been made in Mexico. They could easily be converted to pierced earrings.
