Made in Europe in the mid to late Victorian period, this elegant hand painted porcelain brooch was once a lovers gift. The blue and yellow Forget Me Not flowers have the significance of their name; Remember me always.

The brooch is large, oval, and slightly domed white porcelain and it is an exceptional well-made piece of art. The floral design is delicately accented with faint hues of yellow and pink to create a lovely pastel motif. The porcelain cab is prong set to a gold bezel and it is a real antique gold-filled bezel of great old-world quality.

Medium large in size, the brooch is 2" tall x 1 1/2" wide or 51 mm x 38 mm. The back has an old-style C clasp.

The porcelain cab is in pristine clean perfect condition with no imperfections or flaws. There are no chips, scratches, scuffs, or cracks. The porcelain retains the original satin matt gloss finish, and the paints are not worn or faded. The gold on the back shows some very light signs of gentle handling over the past century but there is no loss of gold. It appears as though someone had their initials etched into the back, but they are faint now. The brooch is not signed.

Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new presentation jewelry box.
