Kenneth J Lane made some of the most astonishing big pearl brooches the world has ever seen. This is not a KJL for Avon signature; it is just KJL alone. I cannot be certain when this piece was made, but it is an older retired design probably from the late 1980s or early 1990s. 

This rare to find design is a twist on the traditional Maltese Cross motif and this modern approach has Atomic styling. 

The brooch is made of polished yellow gold metal and the glass pearls are both round and oval. The pearls are not bright white. They are champagne with a luminous satin luster, or antique wedding dress white.The brooch as a 3D appearance as the four round pearls set on the coiled and cone shaped arms protrude slightly forward. The brooch has a large bail and can be worn as a pendant as well.

The brooch or pendant is medium large in size at 2" wide or 5 cm. The entire brooch is in superb like new condition and is microscopically clean. The brooch has never been worn and there are no imperfections to any of the pearls even under a loupe with the exception of a microscopic faint scuff on the edge or side of one of the round pearls. 

The gold is perfect all around and there is no wear on the bail or the original fine working safety clasp and bar hinge. The back is signed KJL ©.
