This precious butterfly necklace is one that I have never wanted to part with as it was made in the early 1970s by a friend of mine. He was a talented guy, and he made figural copper enamel jewelry for only a short time.
This hand cut solid copper butterfly is embellished with pooling enamels in deep red, cobalt, and ocean blue. The perimeter is golden in appearance as the clear coat finish makes the copper below glisten. At the center of the body there is a cobalt and light blue glaze beaded accent.
The chain is an old flat link chain from the 1970s and it is clean and polished. It is light yellow-gold metal but for the most part, it looks silver in appearance under bright light. The chain is finished with an easy to hook lobster clasp.
The necklace is a long choker style and measures 18.5" or 46.3 cm long. The butterfly is 1 5/8" wide x 1 1/4" tall or 3.5 cm x 3.1 cm.
Both chain and butterfly are in excellent clean condition with no signs of wear or other imperfections.
Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new presentation jewelry box.
