Over the past 40 years, there is a particular style of antique candlesticks I have collected. This cast metal pair was made in France in the Art Nouveau period, or late 19th century. 

The candlesticks have unique architectural design along with Fleur de Lis designs, swags and flowers. They are finished in dark gold paint. A style like this is very uncommon to find. 

Medium in size, the candlesticks are 5 1/4" tall x 3" wide at the base. Of course, the gold has some light wear but most candlesticks like these have no gold left at all. The important condition aspect is there are no cracks, dings, damage, or repairs. Both candlesticks are perfectly straight. ( Any distortion in the photos is an optical illusion.) Overall, the gold is in excellent condition for age.
