This penguin pin has icy metallic jewel tone colors and is a vintage design from the 1950-1960 era.

The penguin can be worn as a pin but it also has a bail, so it can be worn as a pendant too. The brooch is thick and weighty cast brass metal finished with glowing sapphire and emerald poured metallic enamels. The penguin has a clear rhinestone eye and the outlined areas are highlighted in polished gold metal. 

This is a nicely crafted piece. It is nice vintage quality with substantial weigh, and thick glossy wear resistant enamels. The glossy enamels and the gold are sparkling with no scratches. 

The penguin is 2" tall x 1 3/8" wide or 5 cm x 3 cm. The entire pin is in pristine clean condition with no imperfections or flaws. Unsigned, the back is finished in a chiseled fashioned in gold metal with no wear. The original fine working safety clasp is in place. 

If you collect penguin jewelry, older designs like this are very hard to find. Some of the nicest vintage penguin pins are expensive, in the $ 100-200 price range. It is uncommon to find a penguin pin/pendant made in jewel tone sapphire and emerald sparkling enamels like this one.
