This vintage jewelry box is an uncommon to find vintage design. It is a silver metal box that was made in Japan that I have owned since the late 1960s. 

The design is uncommon because it is a long oval box with a romantic scene on the lid and flowers and scrolls around the entire base. The romantic scene on the lid features women in long dresses in a garden inside a scrolling border or flowers, leaves, and scrolls. The inside of the lid is patterned with tiny scrolls and the base is lined with the original red velvet. The box rests on four small legs.

Medium in size, the box is 3 3/4" long x 2" wide or 9.5 cm x 5 cm. The entire box is in excellent well cared for condition with no major imperfections such as scratches, dings, or metal wear. The red velvet has some light signs of age. The exterior only has gentle signs of wear from age. The hinge is in perfect working order and the box is signed Japan.
