This owl pin is unique because it is 1950s vintage Spanish Damascene jewelry. Figural damascene jewelry such as fish, birds, and other animals was very popular but there were very few owls that were ever made. Vintage animal jewelry with glass bellies are called jelly bellies.

This cute, charming owl has great craftsmanship and character. The belly is cream colored Bohemian glass with gold and silver aventurine swirls. The Damascene wings are folded over the belly. The owl has a Damascene head with pink rhinestone eyes. The Damascene areas of the pin are 24kt gold plated with silver embossing and black enamel inlay. 

The pin is in very perfect and clean condition all around. It is rather small in size and measures just 1 1/4" tall x 1 1/8" wide. The back has the original fine working safety clasp and the pin is not signed. <
