This spectacular paisley shaped clear crystal brooch is a rare signed Volupte design from the 1950s.

Volupte was founded in 1926 in Elizabeth NJ and they were most famous for their ladies compacts. Volupte jewelry was produced for only a very short time and their jewelry is very scarce.

The pear-shaped faceted crystals on this pin have a high lead content which accounts for their incredible diamond like brilliance. These are top quality Austrian crystals, like crystals that were used by Eisenberg and Weiss.  At center is a large crystal chaton and the design is also accented with many clear rhinestone chatons.

All of the crystals and rhinestones are prong set in thick silver rhodium metal. The pin is not large or ostentatious: it is a medium design at 2" long x 1 1/8" tall. * You can add a silver brooch slider to convert this pin to a vertical pendant by checking the option box.

The entire pin both front and back is in pristine like new condition. All of the crystals and rhinestones are original, present, and have astonishing brilliance. There is no wear to the silver rhodium metal, not even on the edges or on the prongs. The back has the original fine working safety clasp. The brooch is signed Volupte.

Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new presentation jewelry box.
