Designer signed by Matisse, these copper earrings have enamel eggs in light pink, robins egg blue, and leaf green. Inspired by the popular beetles of Egypt, this design is called "Scarab" and it was made in the 1955-1965 era.The earrings are genuine solid copper and the copper enamel scarabs are set in copper crown style prong settings. The earrings have a prominent appearance but are not heavy to wear. The earrings are clips and both earrings are signed Matisse. They measure about 1 1/4" wide or 3.1 cm.Both earrings are in excellent unworn condition and are microscopically clean. The clips are in perfect tight working order. The copper still retains the patented Renoir-Matisse Capron clear coat. The enamel scarabs are perfect with no scratches, crazing, or chips and the scarabs retain their clear coat gloss as well. I should note that one of the green cabs has a bright green speck at the center, which is just how the enamels pooled when the glaze was fired.Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new presentation earring box.Comes with a free new pair of soft silicon ear cushions for your wearing comfort.
