Made in the 1950s, this milk glass and black rhinestone cameo brooch is a very impressive monochromatic design. It is designer signed Dodds. Dodds only made jewelry for about 10 years from around 1950 to 1960. Their signed jewelry is uncommon to find and highly collectible.  Also, this is THE most desirable brooch Dodds ever made. 

The brooch is made of silver rhodium metal with individual pierced  settings around each of the SUPER sparkling black rhinestone chatons.  The left facing Victorian lady cameo is made of satin matt black glass  atop a background of high gloss milk glass. The cameo setting is framed  with a silver rhodium rope style frame. 

Probably one of the largest vintage cameos you will ever see, this brooch is a large hand full at 2 1/2" tall x 2 1/8" wide, or 6.3 cm x 5.6 cm. You can get a better indication of the size of this cameo by looking at the photo of the brooch in my hand. 

The entire brooch is in superb, pristine microscopically clean condition. All of the black rhinestones are original, present, and very brilliant clear with sharp facets. The milk glass and the black glass cameo are perfect as well with no scratches, scuffs, or chips. The silver rhodium metal is like new with no wear of lack of brilliance. The back of the brooch is finished in textured silver rhodium and the original fine working safety clasp is in place. The back also has the ©DODDS or DODDZ cartouche.
