Made in the 1950-1960 era, this Bolo style gold tassel necklace is a unique vintage design.Vintage Bolo style necklaces like this are rather hard to find today. This necklace is made of dramatic rectangular box beads in highly polished gold-plated metal. The strand terminates with a pair of pendulum style tassels in satin etched gold metal. The bolo is a leaf motif in etched satin gold metal as well. The bolo is fixed and does not slide. The necklace is finished with etched satin gold findings at the fold over box clasp.
Know that jewelry made by US vintage designers had special patents for their gold plating processes. These processes created a gold plated finish that wears like real gold and does not tarnish or wear like cheaply made imported gold-plated jewelry made today. Trifari even went so far as to name their process of gold plating Trifarium. Almost all US vintage jewelry designers employed the same or similar processes which is the top reason why vintage jewelry is so valuable today. The necklace is not signed however this design was most likely made by Coro or Hobe'.The necklace is about 30" or 76 cm long . The gold box beads are 3/8" or 10 mm long. Both the leaf bolo and the tassel beads are 1 5/8" or 40 mm long. The entire necklace is in pristine clean like new condition with no imperfections or flaws. The gold is clean and bright and there is no gold wear or loss of gold.Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new luxury presentation necklace box.
