These very exceptional vintage Coro earrings date from the early to mid 1950s. They are signed Coro in script without copyright, or pre 1955.There was a time, when Coro made earrings, when they used Austrian crystals that rivaled the quality of Eisenberg. Not all of their crystal earrings had crystals like these. To the best of my recollection, the use of these crystals was reserved for special holiday sets. Im sure if I went thru all my old Coro ads from the early 1950s I would eventually find these earrings pictured as part of a holiday set. I want to say 1952 or 1953 if memory serves me correctly. They were only made for one or two years and never again. These elegant formal clip earrings are a tiered leaf design. Small etched gold leaves form the background setting and piled high on top are thick, large, faceted clear chatons and marquises. The crystals sparkle like diamonds and create the illusion that they are larger in size than they really are.Notice the fancy oval loop style clips on the backs; this style of clip was reserved for special Coro earrings.Medium in size, the earrings are 1 3/8" x 35 mm long and 7/8" or 23 mm wide at the base. The largest chatons are 6 mm and the marquise crystals are 9 mm long. The pair is in pristine clean like new condition with no imperfections or flaws. There is no gold wear and all of the crystals are original, present, and sparkling. There is no facet wear and no chips or scratches on the crystals. Both earrings are signed Coro in script without copyright.Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new luxury presentation earring box.
