This exquisite oval engraved gold brooch was made in the 1940-1950 era and is a very uncommon design. The brooch has Victorian styling, is weighty, and demonstrates exceptional craftsmanship not found in jewelry made today. The brooch was US designer made but is not designer signed. It is stamped 14kt G F. The brooch has a long, pronounced face of etched satin gold with an engraved floral design. This cab is bezel set and framed with a large rope border.Medium in size, the brooch is 1 1/2" long x 7/8" wide or 38 mm x 23 mm. It weighs 10 grams. The brooch was made to be worn vertically as the bar clasp is fixed across the width of the brooch, not the length. The entire brooch is in pristine clean superb condition with no imperfections or flaws. There is no gold wear or loss of gold. The face is perfect with no scratches or dings. The back has very microscopic light signs of gentle handling, hardly worth noting. The 14kt G F stamp on the back did not firmly take and is a little difficult to read. This brooch can also be worn as a pendant with the addition of a gold metal brooch slider which you can add below.Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a luxury presentation gift box.
