From the late 1940s, this striking ribbon wreath brooch is an elegant two layered design with four baguette crystals fanned across the center. All of the crystals are prong set in silver rhodium metal and all of the crystals have tremendous sparkle! 
 
These crystals are what I refer to as the dark side of elegance. The crystals are not perfectly clear but have a pastel rainbow quality to them - but they are not AB stones. This dark side is a process in which old crystals were made to look like diamonds. 
 
The brooch is in sensational condition with no signs of wear. The crystals chatons are all original and perfect and the brooch is pristine and clean. The baguettes might look like thy are scratched, but it is just the way they are cut and faceted on the backs. The back has the original fine working safety clasp and the pin is not signed. Im certain it was designer made, and it is possibly an old Sherman piece.
