Made during the Arts & Crafts period, or about 1920-1930, this one-of-a-kind handmade brooch is signed Czechoslvakia. The brooch is made of wood flowers and a rainbow assortment of wood and glass beads. This is an important piece of vintage jewelry because it looks a great deal like pieces that were made by Miriam Haskell in the 1940s and it clearly proves from where Miriam Haskell drew inspiration. In an admirable oval shape, all of the wood flowers and wood and glass beads are wired to a gold metal filigree back, and then a solid silver metal back was attached to hide all the wire work. This is a fabulous everyday brooch to like to wear plain, understated jewelry. It can also be worn on a hat or pocketbook, or it could be worn as a vertical or a horizontal pendant. The brooch is medium in size at 2" long x 1 1/4" tall or 50 mm x 32 mm. Notice the old C clasp on the back. The entire brooch is in superb pristine condition and microscopically clean all around. The wood flowers and all of the beads look like new with no imperfections, flaws, or fading. The silver metal back has signs of wear commensurate with gentle handling over the past 80-90 years.Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new presentation jewelry box.You can add a silver or gold metal brooch slider to convert this pin to a pendant by checking one of the boxes. A horizontal slider is to wear the pin horizontally and a vertical slider is to wear the pin vertically.
