This Art Deco porcelain serving dish with handle has been a delightful part of my home decor for many decades. I never used the piece and kept it for show in my hutch cabinet. Everyone who ever peered into my hutch would always remark on the uniqueness of this piece. 

This Art Deco design is very uncommon to find. The colors are Oriental orange (or dark peach) golden yellow, black, red, and 22 kt gold trim. The dish is signed and was made in Japan by Tashiro Shoten in the late 1920s or early 1930s. It is one of the earliest examples from this maker. Art Deco wares from any Japanese porcelain maker are very difficult to find today. 

This serving dish has scalloped corners and the lip of the dish is turned up slightly to create a bowl shape.  Medium in size, the dish is 7 1/4" or 18.5 cm wide. The entire dish is in excellent clean condition with no imperfections or flaws. There are no cracks, scratches, repairs, or loss of paint. The clear gloss finish is in excellent condition. 

Looking at the piece with close up scrutiny, there is light to moderate gold trim wear on the handle and around the rim of the dish. There is no crazing top or bottom. I see one very small crazing line on the end of handle that is just in the clear coat finish. There is also one tiny chip on the bottom of the plate - on the foot, not the rim - but no chips anywhere else.
