This Noritake Art Deco vase is an extremely unique rare butterfly motif. The vase has the Noritake makers stamp that indicates this vase was made in 1915. It is stamp # 53 in your MIJ books.
If you search you might a few Noritake butterfly bowls or plates, but a vase like this one is a rare find. This vase has been tucked away in my hutch for about 40 years. The striking orange, green, and 22kt gold motif is a real eye-catcher. The rim, handles, leaves, and bottom are trimmed in 22kt gold.
The vase is medium in size at 6 1/8" tall x 5 1/8" wide at the widest point. The entire vase is in very exceptional condition for age. There are no chips, cracks, crazing, or lack of luster to the clear coat. The vase is exceptionally clean as well. Under serious close inspection you will detect some very minor wear to the gold areas and a very tiny flea bite in the gold on the top rim on the back . Under seriously close inspection I see a few very microscopic scratches.
