Austrian Paris Fan Fare Brooch Art Deco Rhinestone Pin 1950s Jewelry
Don't let the title confuse you, I will explain!
This whimiscal and exciting brooch is an uncommon style known as Art Deco fan fare, referring to lively fan fare activities in Paris in the 1920-1930 era. The brooch is not signed however the unique riveted construction indicates it was most likely made in Austria.
This unique pinwheel brooch is a multi-layer design made of bright yellow gold metal, with V shaped radiating arms, that form the unique pinwheel design. At the center is a ring of rose pink crystals and the outside circle is composed of larger grey blue crystals. The large focal crystal at center is grey blue as well. Extending from the front are two gold metal arms with sprays of clear crystals. All of the crystals are old Austrian crystal chatons and all are prong set.
Medium large in size, the brooch is 1 7/8" wide or 47 mm, without the arm that extends another 5/8" from the circle area.
