Art Deco Sapphire Diamond Glass Brooch 1950s West German Jewelry
This Sapphire glass diamond shaped pin is a very old design that was made in West Germany in the early 1950s. Even though the pin was made in the Mid Century Modern period, it is an Art Deco style.
The deep sapphire glass diamond has a flat table top with unique pentagonal and triangular facets around the perimeter. The back of the crystal is faceted as well and the crystal is open backed, allowing light to pass through to create an radiant glow.
The glass cab is prong set in a gold metal twisted rope frame, which is set towards the back, showing off the prominent depth of the diamond cut glass cab.
Signed West Germany, the pin is petite in size at 1 1/4" long x 3/4" tall, or 32 mm x 18 mm. The top and sides of the sapphire glass is perfect with no scratches, scuffs, or facet wear. There are a few very microscopic flea fites where the glass cab meets the frame, near the prongs from wear, hardly worth noting. There is no gold metal wear or loss of gold and the entire pin is microscopically clean and bright.
Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new presentation jewelry box.
