Art Deco Necklace Formal Rhinestone Lavaliere 1950s Jewelry
Made in the 1950s for formal occasions, this premium quality clear crystal and rhinestone necklace is an exquisite lavaliere or Princess cut design; A fancy vintage formal bow style that is extremely hard to find today.
The sparkling clear quality of the Austrian rhinestones and crystals is stellar, as these vintage stones have a high lead content that creates diamond like brilliance, called Diamondesque.
The focal bow has two rhinestone chains that loop around the outside of the bow. At the very center, the bow is composed of 3 round chatons at the top and a large marquise crystal at the bottom. On both sides of the necklace, the rhinestone strands are embellished with marquise and chaton drops to the left and right of center.
The necklace was made for ladies with small necklines as it measures 15 1/2" or 38.8 cm long. However, if you wish the necklace to be longer, check the box below this description and I will make you a custom silver metal extension chain.
The necklace is made of silver rhodium metal and the ribbon design at the center is large at 3 1/4" or 8.5 cm wide. The necklace is not signed but the hook is finished with a rhinestone end, which was commonly used on pieces marketed by Weiss.
You will be pleased the know that this necklace has obviously never been worn as it is in pristine condition like the day it was made. The entire necklace is microscopically clean all of the rhinestones are original, present, and have brilliant sparkle. There are no cloudy or defective stones. The silver rhodium is perfect everywhere, even on the hook and all of the prongs on every rhinestone setting.
This is a perfect heirloom piece, sure to be appreciated and admired for many decades to come.
