From the late 1950s or early 1960s, this wild purple Lucite necklace and earring parure was made in Germany.
There is a wide range of passionate purple colors, textures, and bead shapes. The necklace is 2 strands of large pearl beads, crackle beads, marbled iridescent plastic beads, and clear Luite beads. All of the beads are faceted or ribbed, except the smooth pearls. All of the beads are also spaced with small black glass beads. The clasp is a large iridescent dome bead prong set in gold metal and the back is signed Germany.
The necklace is 20" long when clasped on the shortest strand. The beads on the clip earrings are tightly strung on clear monofilament and the earring backs are gold metal over brass. Both necklace and earrings are clean and bright and all of the beads are in excellent condition with only microscopic traces of light wear, hardly worth noting. The earrings are 1 1/4" wide and the clips are strong with tight snap and have moderate gold wear on the metal backs.
