Made in the 1950s, this art glass tray or dish is clear glass with crinkled rainbow foil beneath. I have always collected vintage foil glass wares and I've never seen another one as eccentric as this piece!
I don't know who made these, but they were very popular in the 1940-1950 era and they were hand made. The back has a hanger for hanging and the back is also very interesting. It is finished in what looks like fiberglass mat but it is actually an old form of decoupage; a burlap like material permeated with resin, and finished in deep yellow gold paint.
Medium in size, the dish is 6 1/2" long x 4 1/2" wide. This dish has been protected in my curio cabinet for many decades. The entire dish is in pristine clean like new condition with no imperfections or flaws. There are no chips, cracks, scuffs, or repairs.
