Description
This antique Chinese Cloisonne bowl was made at the end of the Qing Dynasty, or about 1910-1920. It has many unique qualities that pertain to much older Cloisonne.
The bowl has an older, simple, and rare to find Fleur de Lis motif repeated 3 times around the bowl. The interior is turquoise and the exterior is Celadon green. The wire work is also an older motif known as the wind design. This bowl is not perfectly round as the copper base metal is thinner than later Cloisonné bowls.
This medium large Cloisonne bowl is about 5 3/4" wide x 2 1/2" tall or 14.3 cm x 6.4 cm. The bowl is in magnificent condition. There are no chips, cracks, scratches, or dents. There is no missing or damaged Cloisonne. The interior is excellent as well with only some light age discoloration on the interior bottom. The Cloisonne is also vibrant with no fading and the enamel is moist and not dried out. The bottom of the bowl is signed China.
