I can't even being to explain how this Black Lip Mother of Pearl Abalone necklace was made! It is a complicated design and was made in the 1970s. Half of the beads are diamond shapes and laminated in layers! In 40 yrs of collecting Mother of Pearl jewelry I have never seen Mother of Pearl that is laminated or fused together! These seashell beads are gorgeous!

This is a long, elegant necklace that can be worn as one long strand or wrapped twice around the neck. The large irregular shell polished "wafers" in deep ocean blue and iridescent silver Abalone shell. However, overall in low light, the necklace looks metallic silver, black, and grey in color.

The necklace is a whopping 60" or 152 cm long. The beads range in size from 14 mm to 20 mm.

This necklace was time consuming to make as all of the shells are individually strung on looped silver rhodium metal pins. The necklace is in pristine new clean and perfect condition and has never been worn.

Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new presentation jewelry box.
