From the height of the MOD era, when 1960s jewelry fashions seemed to come from outer space, these earrings are a very rare design from that era.
These clip earrings are black glass buttons with deep beveled scallops angled on the sides. The earrings have the look of Hematite but they are black glass that was machine carved and machine polished to a silver steel mirror finish. This is actually a very rare technique that you rarely find in any vintage jewelry.
The earrings are clips and they measure 1 1/4" wide. The clips are like new and are strong with tight snap and the earrings are light weight to wear. Both earrings are in good condition with no imperfections like chips, cracks, or scuffs.
Because the mirror finish is so smooth, when you look right at the earrings, you can see fine scratches from handling. You can also see one beveled scoop where the flashing did not take place, so the glass looks black but it is hard to see. If you are looking at the earrings from 1-2 feet away, you cant see any imperfections in the mirror finish. The earrings are not signed.
