This designer Starfish pin is a very rare signed Weiss pin that was made in the late 1960s, or as late as 1971.
The starfish is a MOD Pop Art Design and production of this design was extremely limited. It was made only in one year, right before Weiss ceased operation in 1971. All of the Weiss starfish pins previously made were rhinestone brooches. This was the only design that was geared towards younger ladies or the Hippie generation.
The starfish is made of polished yellow gold metal with gold metal trim around the perimeter. The glossy neon enamels are neon hot pink and the domed metal cabs are light pink. The starfish is medium in size at 2 1/4" wide or 5.8 cm.
The entire pin is in pristine clean perfect like new condition. The enamels are bright and glossy with no scuffs, scratches or chips. There is no gold metal wear anywhere. The back is finished in textured gold and the original fine working safety clasp is in place. The back has the Weiss cartouche with copyright.
Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new presentation jewelry box.
* You can add a silver brooch slider to convert this pin to a pendant by checking the option box.
