Made in the 1960s, this Pop Art enamel metal flower brooch is a very rare to find design. The stemmed flower has elliptical or atomic orbital like petals in dark red enamel. The center is a domed black enamel round and the long stem with leaves are bright green enamel.

The brooch is not signed but I can tell you for certain that it was not made in West Germany and it is an unsigned US designer pin.

Look at the back and you can see that each petal is made of 2 pieces of metal; compressed together and pinched around the rim to seat the shape. Look at the front of the petals and notice they are not flat but domed or arched. These little aspects might not mean much to you, but it is very rare to find a vintage flower pin made this way.

The pin comes with unique matching red enamel slender leaf style earrings. The earrings are made for pierced ears and measure 1 3/4" long x 1/2" wide at the tops, or 44 mm x 12 mm. The large flower brooch is 3 1/2" tall x 2 1/2" wide or 89 mm x 61 mm. Both pin and earrings are in superb microscopically clean condition with no imperfections or flaws. The enamel has no chips, scuffs, scratches, or crazing. The pin back is in perfect working order and the ear studs are new and never worn.
