From the 1960s, I truly admire these freshwater handmade pearl earrings because they are not your average vintage pearl earrings!
The three strands of pearls are twisted together to form tear drop shaped hoops and every pearl is spaced with a small gold metal ball bead. The lustrous pearls are white, baby blue, and light pink. The earrings are for pierced ears and there is a single tiny, small gold metal dome at each ear post.
They measure 2" long x 1" wide. Both earrings are in perfectly clean pristine condition with no signs of age or wear.
When these earrings were made, they were marketed to young ladies in the summer for occasions such as proms or graduation jewelry. Fresh waters pearls were considered a very special gift years ago and this design reveals they were made to be more stylish, following the new youthful trend of hoop earrings!
