This vintage cello pin was made in the early 1960s. It was not mass produced. Brooches like these were made by a US jewelry designers in very limited numbers and awarded to special music students at Julliard or musicians with orchestras.
The cello is made of gold gilt metal and has a lot of life like touches. The strings are metal wires and the body has a open work cut out designs. The body is recessed with raised edges and the body is embellished with translucent tan enamel.
Medium in size, the cello is 2 7/8" or 73 mm long. The entire pin is in pristine clean condition with no imperfections or flaws. There is some light gold wear on the strings. The back has the original fine working safety clasp and the pin is not signed.
