This very unique silver fish pin cant be missed, because the bells jingle when you move!
This type of jewelry is also affectionately known as movement jewelry. This old and unusual fish was hand made in India in the late 1940s or early 1950s. The fish is hand cut silver metal, a type of Indian silver that is a mix of sterling and nickel. The body and fins have hand etched scales and curves. The dangling bells are old hand made bells with just a single slit on the bottoms.
The bells are about the size of a garbanzo bean, or 3/8" wide. The fish measures 1 3/4" long. The pin has the original fine working C clasp that is soldered in place. The pin is not signed, but I am certain of the origin and time frame in which it was made. It is in excellent condition with no imperfections and retains the original old silver patina. It is rather uncommon to find jewelry from India from the 1950s.
Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new presentation jewelry box.
