What a lovely Austrian floral bouquet pin! A vintage design from the 1950s featuring orange and Citrine colors!
For perhaps just one or two years, sometime during the mid to late 1950s, Austria jewelry designers produced jewelry in new trendy colors of Orange and Citrine. For many years, Austrian jewelry was very look-a-like: loads of pastels. The pink, baby blue, and yellow combinations was a fashion trend that was fading fast. Women wanted more exciting jewelry!
Although this pin is not signed, it is clearly Austrian construction, most notably recognized on the back. The petite metal flower petals are orange enamel and each pretty little flower has a Citrine rhinestone chatons at the center. The frilly bouquet is a life-like full half dome and the leaves and stem are green enamel.
The pin is medium in size at 2 1/2" long x 1 1/8" wide, or 6 cm x 2.9 cm. The entire pin both front and back is in pristine microscopically clean condition. The enamels are perfect with no chips, scratches, or crazing. All of the rhinestones are original, present, and brilliant. The back has the original fine working safety clasp.
